Dear colleagues,
it is our pleasure to announce the III International Giardia and Cryptosporidium Conference, which will be held in Orvieto (Italy) from October 11 to 15, 2009.

As was the case for the previous two Conferences (Amsterdam 2004, and Morelia 2007), the IGCIII Conference will address a number of topics related to these pathogens, including clinical aspects in humans and animals, molecular epidemiology and taxonomy, zoonotic, waterborne and foodborne transmission, comparative genomics and proteomics, bioinformatics, cellular biology and immunology.

The venue we have chosen is the Conference Centre (Centro Congressi) in the heart of Orvieto's Old Town. The Centre is within the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, a finely restored historical palace that in 1284 was the seat of the first citizen assembly of public representatives. Orvieto is a small and fascinating city of art where one can find traces of Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance history around every corner. Among the most famous spots, the magnificent Dome, with its splendid Gothic facing and the richness of the ornaments and internal chapels, the impressive St. Patrick's well, and the fascinating underground of the city.

All information about the Conference and the venue, including instructions for registration and abstract submission, are available at the Conference website www.cryptogiardia09.org .

Please note that you can register and submit your abstract from January 15th, 2009.

We cordially invite you to circulate this announcement to your colleagues. Feel free to print and disseminate the enclosed file.

We are looking forward to welcome you in Orvieto next year!

Sincerely yours

The Local Organising Committee
